Baby number three - he's here

At the hospital with mum

Welcome home

Three beautiful boys

First bath

Overly aggressive cuddler

A few pics of our new, as yet unnamed, arrival.

His big brothers are especially excited.

Kirin is a doting eldest brother. He has always been proud to be the big one and keep an eye out for Malik but he wasn't old enough to really know what was going on; this time, he's super sensitive, always wanting to soothe when 'three' is crying, usually by putting his little finger in his mouth or running for mum to give him some more food.

Malik has been super, super cute too. He has been telling everyone that 'my baby' has popped out, and asking Johanna when 'her baby' is going to pop out. He now seems to have understood that it's a 'our family baby' and he has been adorable with his kisses and curiosity. Every morning, before Johanna and the baby have woken up, he tiptoes in to the room in an exaggerated way (think of Bugs Bunny, with big steps as though he's walking on springs) and takes a little look, shudders with joy (as he does) and shuttles off contentedly.

They both seem genuinely fascinated by him. And as overjoyed as their parents both are.

Johanna and I are very proud of our big boys and moved every time we catch a glimpse of them being their cute selves.

So wonderful! The concept of "family baby" was big in our house to leading up to Sam's arrival, and I think it's really helped to create a strong sense of love and care for Ollie and Cole towards Sammy. Congratulations, gang!
