Christmas
Christmas this year was spent in the UK, with Johanna's family coming up to London to hang out with us. Kirin and Malik both seemed to have a good time and life has slowly been getting back to normal since the in-laws departed.
It has been very cold here - below freezing, which is rare in London - so we have had to bundle up pretty well when leaving the house. Kirin has been less than keen to wear a toque, but he does seem to love the mask Johanna bought him. He now refers to himself as "Dash" (from the great film The Incredibles).
Malik's crawling is speeding up at an exponential rate which is both lovely to see and a bit frightening. I swear we need to put a helmet on this guy to save him from all of the bumps and bruises.
More important, his awareness of things around him is developing just as quickly. When I arrived home today, he was genuinely excited to see me and even crawled over to say hello. He also started grabbing the duck that Kirin had snatched from him in the bath. Fighting for toys... that is a phase I'm looking forward to.

Great blog updates you guys -
grabbing toys - yes it is definitely an exciting time in the household when that happens!
Thanks so much for the birth gifts - the outfit is very hip, very cute! We listened to the pirate book yesterday and read a story from Roald Dahl but the part where the prince chops off the ugly sisters' heads was a bit surprising for Cole...! :)
Keep us posted on your plans for your summer visit.

For anyone needing an explanation of a toque (like me):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuque
so what Rav basically means is a beanie. But clearly it's a special Canadian beanie.
Either way, it's overwhelmingly cute on the wearer of said toque.
