At 1:37am on Thursday April 10 2008, his little brother joined the party, at the 37-week weight of six pounds 4 ounces. And at 12:34am on Wednesday May 4 2011, their little brother joined the party. Even hippos like the park

Johanna's delightful cousins in California (Nicola and Sarah) have reminded us that we haven't updated the blog for some time. In truth, we didn't need reminding but we did need a kick in butt to get some pics up here.

Life has been busy of late. Lots of work, lots of Kirin and not quite enough sleep. Kirin is growing up so quickly. His language has developed from imperatives to more and more full sentences. His physical abilities and sportiness are getting better and better - he watched me play volleyball the other day and was so excited ("That's my daddy!" he kept on exclaiming to Johanna) that he insisted on sleeping with a volleyball. And he's become a serial cuddler. It's great.

Hopefully we will be getting a new digital camera at Christmas so I endeavour to keep this site a bit more updated.

High art in Kew Gardens

A few months ago, towards the end of summer, we made a trip to Kew Gardens. There is a fantastic exhibition of Henry Moore sculptures there, stuck out in the open for all to explore at close range and, in the case of children, climb all over. Happily, Kirin loved it.

Birthday smiles

Kirin's second birthday (September 23rd) passed a couple of months ago with nary a posting on the blog. Here are a couple of pictures from the top of the Parliament Hill, after we fed the ducks and had a little walk in the park.

Here is a picture of Kirin on his birthday scooter. It is hard to explain just how impressive Kirin is on it. Notice how he is bending his knee as he pushes. Trust me, it requires more co-ordination than you would think a two-year-old kid could muster. But then, as the father, I would say that wouldn't I.
